For my mixed media photo assignment I  chose to try the fruit roll up technique, because it seemed like a new and interesting technique.  The finished piece has a very interesting aesthetic partly because of the rugged looking lines across the image that are caused by folding during the process and partly because of the red highlights that transferred from the original image. The end result is very interesting to look at and i will be proud to hang it on my bed room wall

Griffin Elsley - Self-portraits I chose the 4 photos above for my final performance task because together they represent me as a photographer and as a person. The first two photos capture me mid air doing my favorite sports either mountain biking or skiing in Revelstoke, B.C.. These two photos capture me doing me as well as showcasing my photographic style. Self portraits and sports don't generally mix, this is because they involve many attempts and a lot of time to get the shot I am looking for. Especially for something like skiing which requires extensive work to get good self portraits and many runs down the same hill. In my first portrait I have used multiple exposure to create a sense of motion and freedom in the photograph. I layered three different shots of me skiing at different points on the run and then put them all together to create one vivid shot. While everything in the background is in white I chose to put myself in red for an extra contrast to the snow.

  ½ ratio lighting self portrait , shot at f4 1/300sec ISO 400 This photo uses a routine lighting set up, that is commonly used by portrait photographers. ½ ratio lighting is effective for portraits and a it simple to set up, thats why it is used so commonly Creative Lighting            The idea for lighting set up behind these photos is to  Create dramatic shadows ,make contrast on the subject and create a intresting image. The reasoning for using a mirror to reflect the images is to create a new and interesting perspective. This combined with unconventional lighting techniques creates an interesting image to look at.

Life takes me many places my favorite of those places are the ones with completely untouched nature. Nature is so humbling, sadly true nature is a difficult thing to experience in such a modern world. My photos are meant to show the beauty of the things I see on my adventures and travels. A photograph could never show the full extent of a certain experience , with my photos I hope to share a little piece of the beauty that I see and hopefully motivate the viewer to go outside and experience nature with their own eyes.     Multiple exposure
